Cate Blanchett - Galadriel

Cate wurde am 14. Mai 1969 in Melbourne Australien geboren. Seit 1997 ist sie mit Andrew Upton eine Kollegen von dem Film „Parklands“ verheiratet.

Sie beendete ihre Schauspielausbildung an der „National Institute of Dramatic Art“ in Australien im Jahre 1992. Sie spielte in vielen erfolgreichen Filmen mit, wie in „Oscar und Lucinda“, „Der talentierte Mr. Ripley“, The Gift – Die dunkle Gabe“ und nicht zuletzt in Elisabeth.

Cate erhielt eine Golden Globe Award als Beste Schauspielerin in der Kategorie Drama und andere Auszeichnungen folgten dem. Für die Rolle der Galadriel brauchte man eine besondere Schauspielerin, die das ausdrücken konnte. Cate fiel bereits in ihrer Rolle in dem Film“ Elisabeth“ aufgefallen. Es stellte sich heraus, das Cate die perfekte Elbe Galadriel abgab. Wenn sie einen Raum betrat, dann zog sie alle in ihren Bann. Sie konnte all dies ausdrücken, was Galadriel vermittelt.
