Elijah Jordan Wood wurde am 28. Januar 1981 in Cedar Rapids, Iowas USA . Elijah hat noch zwei Geschwister.

Im Alter von sieben Jahren zog Elijah mit seinen Eltern, die ihn sehr förderten nach Los Angeles. Er hatte schon viele Auftritte in Shows und TV Produktionen. Doch sein Durchbruch gelang ihm im Jahre 1990 mit dem Film „Avalon“. Filme wie Forever Young, Eissturm, Deep Impact oder The Faculty folgten.

Für den Herrn der Ringe bewarb er sich schließlich selbst. Als er davon hörte, dass das Buch verfilmt werden sollte. Er drehte in einem Kostüm vom Kostümverleih ein Bewerbungsvideo auf den Hügel von L.A. Und es hat geklappt. Elijah Wood wird als Frodo Beutlin in die Filmgeschichte eingehen. Für seine großen Augen war der Kinderstar schon immer bekannt aber nach diesen Film sind seine wunderschönen blauen Augen der Inbegriff von tiefe und einen Hobbit für alle.
